A lot of us are born in August and September, but why?
Take a look at the number of people who are born in August and September (more than any other month), and it’s clear that people like having sex during the holidays.
In fact, a study in Scientific Reports revealed that, based on Google Trends and Twitter data, people in predominantly Christian countries do web searches containing the word “sex” more frequently around Christmas than any other time of year. In Muslim countries, that same trend coincided with the end of Ramadan.
And that doesn’t just mean pornography—people were also Googling topics relating to general sex knowledge, contraception and sexual health.
But why does the festive season get us feeling so frisky? Well, for many of us, the holidays are a happier time than usual, whether it’s spending quality time with friends and family, or the optimism that a new year might bring us. And when we’re happy, we’re more likely to be horny.
